A Chinese company is being tapped by the drug manufacturer Rockville Biotech Fina Solutions for vaccine technology. Rockville Biotech is licensing the firm to manufacture pneumonia vaccine by using its developed technology.

Rockville Biotech will receive the amount of USD 850,000 if the vaccine is commercialized in the market along with the royalties on sales made from the Chenguda institute of Biological products. The biotech company has called upon Chinese personnel for the training and process development at Fina Labs at Rockville. The CEO Mr. Andrew Lees at the Fina Labs said that,” we are pleased to join hands with one of the major drug manufacturers in China and we look forward for this synergy to be a long walk in future developing more sophisticated vaccines and drugs. Our technology will inbound the drug production at a lower cost than traditional methods and ultimately allows for greater benefit in the developing country in the favor of humanity”.

The present pneumonia vaccines are not very effective in infants unless it is chemically linked with proteins .They are made up of sugar polymers and polysaccharides. A conjugate will side out this limitation. Conjugate vacancies are very expensive to manufacture but alternatively it produces long lasting and strong results than any other vacancies made up of polysaccharides alone.

Yonghong Ge of Chenguda Institute of Biological Products said that,” We are pleased to enter into an agreement with Fina, a Company with a world class expertise in conjugate vaccines.  The technology has been beneficial and proven in the markets. The vaccines will prove to be beneficial to about 330 million people in China.
